No that's a great idea.
Really? Wouldn't you be brain dead by the 3rd lecture? Or does it not matter?

I just wanted to be at uni for as condensed a time as possible due to course hate so I guess it depends but even when I do this timetable I will gladly do five hours of uni straight.  There is always time to run for coffee during the 10 minute break thingie between lectures (for transport purposes) and as long as you don't have the horrible 'oh my god this lecture is in the botany building and then the next one in the Spot!' dilemma it shouldn't be a problem.
Maybe for first semester you could try spacing them out a little more if you want so you can figure out how much lecture your brain can sustain.

Well it means me staying at the uni for another 3-4 hours if I skip one of the lectures and do it later in the day.

Is it a bad idea to have 3 lectures in a row?

It might get a little dry by the time you are onto your third
Breaking it up with tutes is better

But ultimately you want a timetable where your tutes are condensed in the least possible days
Having a tute on each of your 5 days means that you have to go into Uni every day of the week
Conversely, if you fill up monday and tuesday with your tutorials and lectures on the rest of the days, it means that if you want you can skip those days without any major issue.

Wait for this:

How did you get it into table format? Manually?

Tuesdays and Thursdays are usually uni nights at a lot of clubs. So if you can get Wednesdays and Fridays off that is good

Get Wednesday and Thursday afternoons off, if possible. Also Friday mornings. Your best bet is to stack as many classes as possible on Mondays and Fridays. Definitely get Wednesday afternoons off, if nothing else.

So would a tute followed by two lectures be a better idea?

Okay I have the option of taking tuesday off or taking thursday off (If I've timetabled correctly :S)...

Anyone know which one would be better to have off?

Yeah, I was leaning towards tuesday just cos I'm the most tired at the start of the week so a break on a tuesday would probably be better. Thanks for the extra info! I'll take tuesday off then, hopefully things will be due on a wed + thurs, that would be perfect :) (unless somebody else has any other objections?)

How quickly do the classes tend to fill up for the first year subjects? Like, is it a matter of minutes, hours, days?

Anyone know? Need to work out if I should stay home tomorrow morning; got my timetable planned out and perfectly and don't want to have it messed up :P

Okay so it depends but, to be honest, if you want to enroll at 10am you'll be sitting in front of the computer for about three hours.
I was last semester.

Some classes don't fill up immediately but I feel last semester the timetabling opening date was less well known as what it is this year.
For first year subjects, I would be wanting to sign up as soon as possible if you're dead set on the timetable you want.
You all got told when timetabling opened on AAD.
