A+ range?
« on: June 11, 2008, 05:38:07 pm »
So what do you think the A+ range will be this year? Last year it was 76.5/90 (i'm pretty sure)! How much do you think it will go up?

This year's paper wasn't that hard. I would expect it to be in the proximity of 80, although not above 80.

They figure out the median score and the variance of the scores then set the A+ range for the top 10% (i think it may be?) of the student population, whatever that is.

Yeah i'm pretty sure it's 10%!

I think it will probable be around 78-79. There were a few tricky questions!

I was talking to one of our physics teachers, who said that the range will be about 76+. He isn't my teacher so I'm not sure how he is involved, but I'm pretty sure he has a lot to do with the marking scheme etc.
2007
Revolutions 39 ----> 41
2008
English 42 ----> 42
Literature 42 ----> 43
Methods (CAS) 32 ----> 39
Physics 41 ----> 43.8
Economics 38 ----> 40

ENTER: 96.00
(Hopefully its very conservative!!)

No to half marks (unless the question was worth more than 1 mark to start with)

Thats still a good score :D

i used the mass of the tugboat not the ship for the 1st question

i used the length of the spring not the displacement, somehow thats how i got 1 joule it looked liek a good number so i didnt question it -__-"

the advertising board one, calculated the vertical height from the top of the parabola to where it hit, >_>

and got both of the ke gpe graphs wrong,  =/. shoudlve gunned this one. i found last years easier for some reasn as i tested my self on it like a prac exam.

In some ways i felt it was. There were some tricky questions this year so we might not so the A+ range move up to much!. However i think the electronics section was easier this year!

This years exam was much easier than previous nears but it was still tricky so the A+ range might only go up by a bit.
