VCE school timetable

I'm still waiting for my VCE school timetable to arrive in the mail, but if anyone knows theirs please discuss:
1) how many spares/frees you have
2) how long your classes are
3) do you get to leave school early or come in later
4) the flexibility of what you can do in your frees/spares
5) how many classes of a certain subject you have per a week

I'm just curious as to what goes on at other schools :)

:3

We have

1/ Five spares a week, two doubles and a single period.
2/ Our classes go for 52 minutes each.. I think.
3/ I get to leave early Thursdays because that's when one of my double spares is :3
4/ Pretty much do whatever you want, some students choose to study but a lot walk into town for something nice to eat.
5/ Five classes for each subject, 6 periods in each day!

1) 5 study (spare) periods. I'll be spending 4 of these mentoring/tutoring juniors though.
2) 4 periods a day, 75 minutes each. Used to be 6 periods a day, 50 minutes each prior to the merger.
3) Yes, Wednesdays I'll have only period 1 and 2, which means I can go home at 12pm every Wednesday if I wanted, but again, I'm spending my time doing tutoring instead.
4) It's recommended that you do private study in the library, but most people (me included!) go to the shopping centre. Some people go to the fish&chips shop too, but they always get caught - teachers are always buying their lunch there and catch the kids whilst waiting for their food. Once, this bunch of guys hid behind the counter when they saw teachers coming. ;D
5) There are 7 periods for each subject over a fortnight. There are even double period sessions for a subject sometimes... 150 minutes of draining maths as the case was last year.

1) I have 3 PS's; (Private Study) periods and 3 spare periods a week. It varies depending on the amount of subjects one is doing.
2) 40 minutes per subject.
3) Leave early on Wednesday (if a SAC isn't on) and Friday afternoons.
4) Practically no flexibility; we are meant to study. Can't go outside of school either.
5) 6 periods per subject a week. We have 8 periods of class a day, except on Friday's which is 7.

Is my school the only one with a 4 period day? :S

I don't think the change to 4 periods was a curriculum/learning benefited change.. it was more so for the convenience of the daily timetabler and less movement between house buildings. Which is fail because 75 minutes is a bloody long time.

This is interesting.. how do you differentiate between a PS and spare period?

first of all my school has a "10 day timetable" with a week A and week B that goes over a fortnight

1) 6~7 a week
2) 1 hour
3) both, but I try to use my frees whenever possible for work
4) during period 1~3 everyone must use the VCE study room, in period 4~5 we can use the "year 12 treehouse" or go home
5) 7 in a cycle

With PS periods, we are allocated a room to go to and a teacher supervises us for 40 minutes and we're meant to do work from other subjects; i.e. catching up on work. On my school timetable, spare periods have '*' - asterisks; which indicates we can go home whenever your classes finish for that day. That's generally on a Monday/Thursday for me.

1) 3 "spare subjects" which basically means I have 18 spares per 7 day cycle (12-15ish per week)
2) 45mins- P1,3,4  40mins- P5,6 80mins-P2
3) Refer to 4)
4) Anything at all...I could go to Europe as long as I'm back for the next class. So yes we can come late and leave early if our spares allow it.
5) We have 7 day cycles for our timetable...and we have 6 of the same class per cycle. So basically 4/5 a week.

Here's mine:

Monday: No free periods (except lunch) 8:10-2:25
Tuesday: Period one free (FUCK YEAH) 9:00-2:25
Wednesday: Double free :D 8:10-12:45 (but only have 3 classes in that time)
Thursday: Period 8 free :D 8:10-2:25
Friday: One free (which makes a double lunch) 8:10-2:25

My timetable is prety good for my school because most people have 8:10-3:15 on thursday (which is painfull) but I get to leave early at 2:25 :D Also, that tuesday period one is awesome.

1) Overall, it adds up to 5 free periods a week
2) 50 Minutes (except period one and two on tuesdays which are 45 minutes- cos assembly is tuesday [but not many people go])
3) We can come later, and we're not supposed to leave early but they're never gonna stop you.
4) well, i have one double, one double lunch and two frees that I can spend at home (p1 or p8) so I suppose I'll spend the seccond part of the double lunche in the library (what fun is lunch by yourself?), spend the double free in the library too... and go home for the other two. But a few mates also have my free blocking, so that could get in the way of library :(
5) 5 a week :)

I'll have to aim not to do anything stupid at school on a monday or a tuesday, otherwise they can keep me back in detention on thursday (thus relieving me of the chance to go home early).
