Assumed Knowledge/skills for Music Unit 1 and 2 (Voice?)

So I have a friend thinking of doing VCE Music Performance Unit 1 and 2 with Voice. Do you have to be able to play the piano? Or is just using your voice enough to do well? Because I've heard that it's recommended you can play the piano at a certain level. (If so which level is recommended to be at?)

Is there anything that would be assumed knowledge?

Like maybe reading keys/notes? Know time signatures? Arpeggios? Scales?
Is there a certain 'level' you should be at to do well in VCE Music performance?

I'd like to have some sort of idea of what's required for this VCE subject so I can help her make some sort of informed decision :)

Thanks in advance!

Know how to read music. Also basic stuff about intervals and chords. I think for 3/4 there's a technical component so know how to play scales and stuff.

If you do AMEB I think you should be around grade 6/7 level.

Well everyone does the same exam so it applies to every instrument.

Performance-wise I'm less sure. There is someone on this site who did voice for 3/4, but he's overseas atm. I'll ask him to come and comment when he is back.
