And now that I have read it I don't know how I did so well in English.

++++++++++++++++++++++

I am the same.  These sample answers and responses in the English and EL reports pawn anything I could or did write.

+1. Those reports scare me. Just so glad I never have to do it again. I still don't understand how I managed to do well on the exam... strange haha

Holy crap, am I meant to write at this standard for English by end of year in a 1 hour of paper *faints*

Jesus, kill me now!
About Philosophy

When I see a youth thus engaged,—the study appears to me to be in character, and becoming a man of liberal education, and him who neglects philosophy I regard as an inferior man, who will never aspire to anything great or noble. But if I see him continuing the study in later life, and not leaving off, I should like to beat him - Callicle

haha Don't worry Water! :) My essays were NO WHERE NEAR the standard of most of those in the report (I'm comparing to the "upper range scripts" not the mid range ones...) and I still managed a 9.5 + 10 + 8. So there's still hope! Don't let those essays scare you, they're kinda "above and beyond"...

Yes, mine were also no where near that standard.  I didn't do any practice at all and still somehow managed to pull 8s, 9s. and 10s from somewhere.

Whilst you may be intimidated by some of these higher scoring responses, they are a select few, and you would be more astounded by the large amount of essays which don't even get completed or are only a paragraph long, and have very poor literacy skills.  You will take even more comfort in seeing how many students walk out of the exam room early.

You can rely on these types of students to push your SS higher, so coupled with some decent effort throughout the year, your goal is very realistic and achievable.

I know! I bet they were finally realising that some of the Lit students just didn't get it..... Well there's one good thing: it means that from now on the VCAA assessors are going to expect a MUCH higher standard from everyone. (Good thing that Lit's over and done with!! For us anyway)

Full Analysis. And I'm actually quite sure. I got out my exam booklet, which I still had, and the quotes are things I highlighted. Plus I know it must be mine because it still makes me cringe slightly in the way I do when I read my own work :P

Haha apart from some lapses in expression, it's a darn good language analysis! ;) Who would've guessed? One essay out of 40,000 chosen to be published on the report. Well done! :P

Ugh those lapses in expression made me cringe so much! But it's so like something I'd do. And yeah, It's pretty awesome, although I thought my language analysis was a weak point. I felt like I was going on far too much about guilt and alarm and not really focusing on anything else. Still, not bad for a subject I aimed to put in my bottom two!
