Increments?

I've seen the term "increment" float around frequently, but I don't understand its relevance to subject scores. Can anyone please tell me what this actually means? I would be quite appreciative :)

Your bottom 2 subjects (5th and 6th) where you get 10% of your study score.

For example you receive 50 50 50 50 40 40

Your two increments are 4 and 4 which adds to a total of 8 aggregate out of a possible 10.
