I am aware the first two weeks of university are an opportunity to change subjects and go to as many lectures as possible. However, is two weeks long enough to really know whether you should continue doing a subject or not? For example, I have just started psychology for the first time, if I don't enjoy the lectures over these two weeks, should I quit and swap subjects or persevere for a semester? It's a tricky decision.

No, it's not enough. First year is all about figuring out what you like, so do it for a semester to find out.

I am just afraid of not doing well in it and then having to face a poor GPA.

MBB1 is notorious for being very dry.  And I'm guessing you have Jason Forte for biological psychology.  Unfortunately he is also the worst lecturer you'll ever have in first year psychology.  But hold on there, it does get better. Especially in next semester in MBB2.

I am stuck between whether to do post-graduate Law or something humanities related because that's what has always been my number one strength. However, I've had this idea that maybe I'd suit a career in psychology, but I just don't really know anymore..

Pretty sure GPA is only calculated for health sciences. First year doesn't count towards your weighted average for a lot of postgraduate courses.

I think it may be for the Melbourne JD though? Or if I had to transfer to another course, such as undergraduate Law. I suppose that's only important if I really wanted to do law. Man, I am so confused.

First year is easy unless it's a language or an advanced subject. Just take what interests you. You'll just damage yourself in uni by using vce 'what will boost my score' methodology to decide what subjects to take in uni.

I am doing a language also and it's difficult when there are so many choices. Too many options can be a double-edged sword. Hopefully I am greeted by an epiphany sooner rather than later!

Soon I'll be doing two! I'm the worst science student ever; I've basically converted my degree into a Science/Arts double, haha.

Well at least you have some direction, albeit they're complete opposites :P

Don't worry.  A lot of science students are clueless.  Hell, I know there are second year students who are still clueless.

i found Jason Forte a pretty good lecturerer, he beats my Quantitative Methods 1 lecturerer any day.... and im talking this guy is seriously monotonal.....
