First context piece done and I feel slightly guttered because I know it wasn't as great as it could be...by a long shot :(

My class was just told that the average mark for our LA SAC was a C+, and that other classes had similar trends.

But you guys get standardized? If everyone is C+, then if ppl get A- A+ in the exam, your SACs would get high marks.

Btw, I blew my oral...... Out of all the years, VCE had to be the one ):

We are getting our marks back tomorow for english
Just curiously - when do we get to know your real aims for VCE?

For example English [ 50 ] , MM [ 50 ] etc. :P

I am getting 7-8/10 in my practice essays, teacher is an examiner and author of one of the English textbooks. I am obviously improving but is it enough to get a 35 ?

7-8/10 is pretty good for just the beginining of the year, I think I was getting 6-7 at the start and still ended getting above 40, so you're looking fine.

Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

It's going to get standardised, or at least all the english teachers want it. Except maybe GM and BM.

I don't see why your school would want to screw the whole cohort over so bad, especially in a subject like English.. Doesn't matter if it's all done in the name of ranking, but seriously they could've chosen far, far better topics for you guys to do!

They do everything they possibly can to screw us over.
My Psych SAC had a purposeful spelling error that rolled people...nothing to do with Psych itself :P

I wouldn't say it's screwing over the cohort so much as truly discriminating between those who are truly capable and those who aren't.  There is every likelihood the exam piece will be terrible (see: Voxi 2009), so really, it's actually a good thing.  Also it leads to a fairer set of rankings, as the harder the task is, the more accurately students will be put in their actual place...

BM wrote it yes.
Difficult SACs are good, but when a majority of classes are unable to get higher than a B, something is wrong. Its attributed to the image being very difficult largely.

This is going to be the hardest results thread in the history of the site to keep in order...

On topic, I get my Maestro SAC results back in another week or so (I butchered half of my essay but half was all right so B or C+ ish in the old scale).

Then I have a SAC on Rugmaker (Eeeuuugggh!) 1st week back from holidays.

My teacher read out an A+ response to our 'GST' SAC (LA) that he got from another teacher (who called it a 'model response'), and it was seriously an average response, despite it being 5.5 pages (with ~13 words/line in 90 mins with no reading time). My teacher said that he would give it a B at tops...

The injustice of our system.

Another teacher, I'm guessing you don't know who?
