Question about work?

I know that Work = Fx, and this may seem like a really simple question...but, in what cases is Work equal to energy? (e.g. Kinetic, gravitational potential etc)

Thanks!

i think work is like the total energy what you've changed. Like if you push a block up a ramp, total work would be the change in gravitational potential energy + the change in kinetic energy. So if there's a frictionless surface and such that all friction and resistance is 0 then work would equal to the change in energy
