Media Narrative SAC - Weird question on the SAC

Hey to anyone reading this right now!

Had the media narrative sac today, most of the questions seemed alright, except the extended response we had to do. A lot of us thought the phrasing was really odd and contradictary. See what you think:

Compare and contrast 2 production elements and 2 story elements from both of the narrative texts studied (Shutter Island, Strangers on a Train) and what effect they have on the audience's understanding of the narrative. (4 elements in total for each film, diffferent elements for each film)

The problem most people, inluding myself, fell into was using the same 4 elements for both films and contrasting them. It is just me who thinks that if you are contrasting and comparing for 2 films, that you would be contrasting and comparing between films rather than seperately.

I'm worried I've lost heaps of marks for doing what I did (this question was out of 16). Let me know your thoughts and how would be a better way to tackle a question like this.

Thanks!

I'd say talk to your teacher and say you found the question was poorly worded, who knows, they might mark it more leniently? It's worth a shot.

I think the question is very stupid though, if you compare and contrast something you need to be talking about the same element! urghh, such a poor question really shouldn't be allowed to be on a sac.

I just found out what my SAC will be on, and that is how film techniques relate to others, is there a guideline of how to answer or anything?
