too late to 'drop' a subject?

Hey everyone,
I already did a unit 3/4 last year and i did pretty well in it, and I'm currently doing 5 subjects this year.
I want to drop economics, would it be too late?

Oh, and I'm in Year 12 :)

Thanks!

Just continue with it, even if you get a study score of 15 it'd boost it regardless, as opposed to having no 6th 10%

Yeah, good point Darren
It's just that I get really unmotivated to do well in other subjects when I do pretty average in economics (especially when I get my SACs back)
I kind of enjoy Economics, but I want to focus more on my other subjects

for economics you can walk into the exam knowing nothing and i reckon get enough marks for a decent study score of about 9
vce: english, methods, spesh, chemistry, physics, geography.

Don't worry gregie, if economics if screwing your motivation you can easily just completely neglect it to focus on your other subjects. You'd surely get a score of above 25 if you just pay attention in class

though a lot funnier to go around telling people you got a study score of SIX.

haha taiga xD yeah, well im hoping for a study score over 9, obviously, im hoping for about 33
thanks darren, but i also do religion at school (unit 2) seeing it's compulsory as i go to a catholic school. so technically i do about 6 subjects (that means less study periods).... so i was thinking that if i drop economics i have more study periods, and i actually study heaps during study periods

Stick with it, pay attention in class, dont do hw/study. You should still be able to pull off a 5 or greater study score, which will slightly increase your atar.

I dropped french in March of Year 12 :). Whilst I was in constant doubt, in the end I didn't turn out too flashbad.

hahahaha,swarley-i used the ATAR calculator and actually put 5 as my study score for economics (even though i'll do much better than that!). my ATAR went up by about 0.30 xD.
thanks iffets12345, now i gotta see if my school let's me drop it seeing by the time i get back to school it'll already be late april.

That difference may dictate whether or not you get into your desired uni course as well.

I really want you to get a single digit study score, just for novelty value, so I can say that my mate got a study score of 4. (and blitz the rest of your subjects)
