Actuarial studies - is it share market related?

well i basically want to do something related to the share market and investing.
i was wondering if actuarial studies is the right path to take, it seems to be highly related to maths and risk analysis :)

it is related however not AS related as finance :)
PhD @ MIT (Economics).

Interested in asset pricing, econometrics, and social choice theory.

actuarial studies is related to the share market if you were to work for investment banks and those types of firms you can definitely find a job as a actuary where you will work with the sharemarket. Actuarial studies is not restricted to the sharemarket however and has a myriad of applications not only in a commercial environment but also with the formation of policies and insurance.

make sure you love your maths though!
