Any school's out there doing The Aunt's Story by Patrick White?

We're using The Aunt's Story to write our Views and Values SAC but I'm finding it extremely hard to understand the book itself. The imagery and the language is so blehh, so I was wondering if any of you guys might be doing the same text

I am. It's a tough book, considering a lot of Part 2 is in French. I don't know if it's relevant to our generation. Not many people are as misanthropic as Theodora Goodman,

Thanks - it must be considered a difficult book for school students - almost no-one seems to be studying it. I'm going to ask the selectors why they chose it. I'd like to ask your school too. What school are you at?
