we get a cheap laminated library card

can't really think of anything else

oh, and we can get into any course we want to with ENTER of 95 [except for med and law I think] (or 90 if you are from underrepresented school)
if we are from regional areas we get a move-into-city-scholarship of 1k or 2k?

and then various seminars and events that somehow ends up with us contributing to the community, etc. nothing flash in particular

the funny thing is, what do you REALLY expect a uni student to do other than get drunk and go nuts? [and cram before exams]
hehe, it's all a bit sketchy to me. I shouldn't have bs'd so much in my application, haha

on the side note, the most valuable thing I've got from being a KLD'er is the water bottle we got at the first meet. quite honestly, it doesn't really help much at all... [or maybe its just I'm bored out of my brain because there's no one else from my school] quite sad, I know.

Although it's clearly a marketing ploy, I think the benefits of being a KLD young scholar make it worthwhile. There are people out there who have no hope of going to Melbourne Uni at all, and if it makes some courses more accessible (albeit only slightly) then it's a good thing.

You also get a $2500 travel scholarship, I believe. It wouldn't go very far, but if you wanted to go on exchange anyway then it would be a fair discount.

On another note, I wonder how many KLD young scholars got under the clearly-in for a course yet were able to use their scholarship to get in still. There may have been a lot of commerce kids from underrepresented schools...
