Can I still get a 40? with my :/ sac marks...?

we have like 16 students in class and im ranked 9th, and my average is about 71%, our school sacs are slightly harder than the official exams, If I get high in my mid year exam such as something like 80/90, can i still get a 37raw or something like that for a study score?

Does my sac mark make a huge effect, or it doesnt matter if im ranked 5th 3rd or 9th?  :buck2:

I think if your cohort all do well, then it shouldn't be a problem. I think you pretty much need to get atleast an A if not A+ to get close to a 40 raw. I've heard that A+/A+/A+ grading will get you a 40 raw, however I do remember a case where someone in my school got A/A+/A+ and still managed and 40 raw. So yeah, look to aim around there, if not higher!

sac marks can be scaled by how you go in the exam, what is important is the ranking in your cohort. Say that you scored A+ in both exams and everyone whose ranked higher than you scored B+, then you'll most likely wont be getting a 40 raw.

Then does that mean you dont have to worry about how your cohort goes??? beacuse chances are you will get the highest exam mark..

It'd be the same as if you were in a cohort by yourself. Your sac mark would reflect your exam scores.

What happens if:

- You have average SAC marks, ranking in the middle of a moderate cohort
- You ACE (100%) both exams.

Do you guys reckon VCAA would choose to give you a 50? or would they take your SAC marks into account?

i think it depends on what the person ranked number one gets, if he get higher than u.. than u can get that...

from what i understood, no1 can get higher than the person ranked 1.

You mean in terms of SAC marks? Yeah, I thought that too i.e. top exam mark = top SAC mark. However, in recent times, I have been hearing rumous that if one manages to get 100% on both exams for any subject, then VCAA will somewhat disregard SAC marks. Anyone think this is true?

yes, theirs something like that, because like seriously, how fair would it be that someone gets 100% in both exams and his sac marks/rank are low cauz his misbehaves and the teacher marks him harsh, etc... (<---for exampl).

ohh well, i know ill never be close to get something that high... im nt that bright :/... neither does the school help much, neither do i get tutoring ...

Are you sure? Because a teacher at my school specifically told me that this was the case.

Also, note that I'm not referring to just "any" subjects. I'm referring specifically to those which have 2 exams. Lastly, I'm not saying 99% on any of the exams. I am talking about getting 100% on both (I'm not planning on getting close to this, but I am curious)

Hopefully, my school has retarded sacs that go beyond the course... I average 90-95% on practice exams yet can barely exceed 70% on our sacs, surpassing the average mark of 30-40% over both our physics classes... =/
