Which language should i learn?

Okay I'm a bit bored of VCE and the never ending SACs & Exams and I have quite some time on my hands. Anyway, I decided to learn a new language instead of watching SNSD, Anime, NigaHiga, Mychonny and etc in Youtube.

Which language should I learn? Right now, I'm fluent at Tagalog(Filipino) and English. I also know a bit of Spanish and Mandarin.
Which one of the five should I learn and what will benefit me if I'm planning on pursuing a career in Engineering?
1.Spanish
2.Mandarin
3.Japanese
4.German
5.Korean

Probably Mandarin as China's most likely gonna be a future superpower, but I mean really any language (unless it's like Ancient Greek or something) is valuable, just choose a country which you'd like to perhaps visit/live in and start learning it =). Learning a language from scratch without any background in it is honestly something you can't force, you really need to have a genuine interest in the language and it certainly helps to be interested in the culture of the people who speak the language, i.e. if you wanna learn Spanish spending some time actually living in Spain and immersing yourself with the people there is a huge amount of help.

If you end up ceebs'ing learning a language, start watching the office, that TV show is absolutely king!

When my mother was pregnant with me, they did an ultrasound and found she was having twins. When they did another ultrasound a few weeks later, they discovered that I had adsorbed the other fetus. Do I regret this? No, I believe his tissue has made me stronger. I now have the strength of a grown man and a little baby.

Do Japanese because Japan is more technologically savvy and watching Anime might help you too.

Also it is good for Beginners compared to Korean and Mandarin.

My preference would be
1. Mandarin  -  one of the biggest in the world
2. German - spoken in a lot of countries, lots of big companies based in german speaking countries
3. Spanish - spoken in quite a few countries, latino chicks
4. Japanese  - spoken only in japan but useful if you want to live there to work in technology or something
5. Korean - so you can understand what the hell SNSD are saying.
vce: english, methods, spesh, chemistry, physics, geography.

You'll probably find these links quite interesting:

Based on what you've explained about yourself, I'd suggest either Mandarin or Japanese.

pursuing a career in Engineering?

Mandarin would definitely be the most useful here.

Anyway, I decided to learn a new language instead of watching SNSD, Anime, NigaHiga, Mychonny and etc in Youtube.

If you study Japanese, watching anime kind of counts as study.
Also, if you're doing mechatronics or something else similarly high-tech, then Japanese.

Mandarin would definitely be the most useful here.

I would've said German... however, a lot of Germans already speak English. But it'll definitely be easier to learn than Mandarin, especially at this stage of your life (unless you're planning to go live in China for a bit because that's probably the only one you'll sound fluent)

Well I'm interested in these languages but not "extremely interested"

1.Japanese - Anime, Manga, Friends, I've always wanted to learn this. Also Japanese pop music is another inspiration for me

2.Spanish - the filipino language is rich in spanish words due to the colonization of the spaniards in the philippines so I know and can make out a few sentences when someone speaks spanish.

3.Mandarin - Studied for four years but was never serious. One of the good teachers left in the second year so we were left with some old guy who doesn't know how to teach the language...pretty much stuck in the lower level.

4.Korean - I'm inspired by their music and for some reason I'm watching their tv shows o.o....with eng subs of course

If you want to learn a language, I'd try Korean, it'd be much easier to learn than Mandarin which is apparently one of the hardest! I suspect Japanese wouldn't be much easier either since it does contain Chinese characters but I'm not sure on that.
