Open day guides

Hey,

Did anyone get the email to be an open day guide. Had to attend a meeting last month, and i got it -im so excited !

Anyone have any experience with being an open day guide?

Yeah it's competitive to volunteer for the open day guide. When I volunteered for the Faculty if Science in first year I got a shirt, certificate and voucher. Not sure what happened the following year though, only got a shirt and didn't even get a Thank you note for helping out and stuff so yeah haha

yeah i received the email saying it was really competitive saying about 800 ppl applied but there were only spots for 280 people. oooo im interested in volunteering for the faculty of science! but not sure how? would they put a notice up if they want volunteers?

Yeh I know haha! There's a notice up on the Portal for that. But if you are already doing the Open Day Guide you probably won't want to do it for Science... unless you want to be stuck indoors the whole day

Ummmm I think they are 10-1pm and 1-4pm

Where do you apply for this so I know for next year, I'd like to do it next year...is it on the Science website or noticeboard on the Portal?

Better than a couple of years ago.  I think the earliest was like 8:30 to 12.  What a bi-a-tch of a shift that was.

So you guys going to be outdoors greeting and handing maps out to people?
