Why did they say you couldn't do it?  I thought QM 1 was able to be completed as a breadth?  Do you have an email or something?

The alternative pre-requisites which are centred on data analysis are still able to be completed in a science/biomed degree, I believe - which would allow the Econometrics subject to be done as breadth.  It might have something to do with the fact that those data analysis subjects tend to be more relevant to the sort of applications in other science subjects.

Also says it here;

https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2011/!065XX-BRDS%2B1046

Some of these subjects are not available as breadth for Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Biomedicine students (e.g. ECON10005 Quantitative Methods).

That's weird though, I always thought science students were allowed to do it.

In that case, if the coordinator says no and the handbook says no, then the best thing to do is MAST10010 Data Analysis 1

That way, you still meet the pre-requisites for Introductory Econometrics.

What the hell?? Not allowed Thats BS.How am i supposed to do this breadth track then :O . That makes 0 sense. Data analysis has 5 contact hours,which is a bit too much for a freaking breadth :| .
