Over the term break

I'm just interested in what work people are planning to do over these holidays.

My plan is to have the textbook 'test your knowledge' completed by the end of this week.

I'll also write up questions for myself based on the study design/textbook headings (e.g. What is RAM? How does normalisation ensure database integrity?) that I'll complete through out term 3.

I guess these holidays are my catch up time, I've been kind of neglecting the theory aspects of ITA up until now.

I find all the theory pretty easy, so I'm just going to read the book (maybe, not sure).

Yeah, I've just struggled to find the motivation to actually do the questions until now. Even then, I'm still struggling to get motivated haha.

The book is so boring!!!!

I love it as a subject, and I am doing very well. However the few commercial exams that I have completed have been very, very easy.

I, unfortunately can see why this subject scales so awfully :(

This time last year, i used the following:
- Leading edge book
- Textbook

I started writing out my notes under each dot point of the study design, and within the whole two weeks, i'd finished the entire course and knew most of it relatively well.
I'd recommend that to all of you guys too.
Whilst my SS isn't all that impressive, I managed a decent A+ on the exam, so this was definitely worthwhile.
Also, do the VITTA exams last, those are shit.. Insight, Kilbaha and VCAA (obviously) are probably the best.

VITTA exams are actually the best, they just examine general IT stuff and not stuff on our course outline D:

I'll be aiming to finish the TYK questions, although I'm not behind at all. I guess I could also get some work done on excel to prepare myself for the first outcome.

Yeah tell me about it :(  50/50 on both outcomes in U3 + an easy exam means I have no reason not to get a ridiculous score in this subject. I just have to nail unit 4 and motivate my incredibly weak cohort to do well on the exam.

I've done pretty damn well on both outcomes so far, but I've only done the Chapter 2 and 3 (and a bit of chapter 4) out of the book, so I'm considering myself as being behind. I'm going to take Nacho's advice and just study each of the concepts for each dot point.

Wait.... will a ridiculously weak cohort drag your exam score down? I'm worried now  :-\

A weak cohort means if you do well in SACs you do better overall...

That is good to know. Our class is, at best, weak. There are about 3-4 of us that want to do well (40+) the rest are just lazy and have all ready developed the "Fuck it" attitude in all most every class.

:(

But I am still going strong in all of my subjects. Yay me.... lol

Haha I'd say there are only two students (including me) that will get above 40. The rest will be lucky to score 30. Everyone seems to have the attitude of "this is my 10% class". Fuck if you're struggling in Apps I'd like to know how they think they'll score better in other subjects.

I've seen so many people already give up in my IT:A class since half of them didn't take databases seriously. The funny thing is the database outcome this year was so easy in comparison to previous years.

I love the contrasting attitudes in my two IT classes. IT:A is the class with 25 kids who watch YouTube clips, and software development is the smaller class with eight kids who actually do something. Both are enjoyable in their own ways lmfao.
