With VCE are we concerned with both AC and DC motors?

"ingredients" for a simple DC motor:

get a light wooden block (small)
coil of copper wire (something that is around 2-3mm thick so that u don't have to build a commutator =])
two magnets (three if u know the configuration)
some stripped wires or something metallic to act as a brush

i believe that's wat we used back when i was in vce. my teacher sure knew how to be cheap :P

i will leave the construction up to you for now. will post again if u get stuck
