IMO, that was a very difficult exam compared to last years. I did last years exam in 1hour 40 minutes and only lost 4 marks. I finished todays exam with about 13 minutes to spare, and i have a feeling i lost quite a few marks. I did alright, but i'm hoping the rest of the state had trouble with it  :D

And the Tasmania Jones equation has evil

someone correct my answers i posted on a new thread. i posted quite a number of solutions to most of the parts of the exam including all multiple choice questions! Thanks! hope i can get 25+ =)
I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment and life's greatest rewards are reserved for those who show a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, this is still the common denominator that separates those who live their dreams to those who live in regret.

yea i got those values...for p and q haha
so much for getting full marks dayum! prolly lost abt 5-6marks....the one where u needed to state translations for sin into cos fucked me..and so did the nxt part..i think ill get 1/4 for that...the rest of section 2 was aight.
multi choice i wasnt sure about last qn and one other..cant remember that..
overall i HOPE to get 74-75/80!

Oya, for the transformation, did u write reflection in x and then translate by 3 units to the left?

btw wat did u guys get for the next part where it asks for the cubic polynomial? Does anyone remember the original Eqn?

^ i had no clue how to solve those - but for transformation i said it was moved three to the left .. cos the domain was from [0,4] and h was [-3,1]
and i didnt get the second transformation because it was pens down =[

Very hard exam. Again VCAA can never get the difficulty right...

Agreed... Stupid hard exam :P
I definitely lost some marks... I couldn't do some of the questions :(

Quote from: "Kopite"
hmmm...i reckon ppl will be rite if they sorta get the first bit of each question, half the state wouldnt have known wat to do!!!!

Heh, I guess I'll be right then :D

Quote from: "JohnS"
p=10 and q=1.5

I got that, but wrote q = 3/2. It didn't say to use a decimal, did it?

Quote from: "hifer"
Quote from: "2007vce"
for the pdf, where u have to find m... wat did u put???
i put m= 0 cos thats the convention???

m=8000 coz it's a Continuous graph.. i spent so much time thinking about tat lol

Bahahaha
Yeah, that confused me for a while, but then I noticed it said it was continuous :P

the one where u needed to state translations for sin into cos fucked me

I put that it was translated 3 units left and inverted... I think?
And then for the cubic or whatever (the next question after that), I did the same translations. Like, the original was g(x), I did -g(x+3) for it.

Quote from: "squance"
Quote from: "hifer"
i think p=10 and q=3/2 or sth

Damn, then I got it wrong....

Approx how many people are we competing against in the state for methods by the way?? 5000? 10000?

Around 16000 people did it last year, and I'm guessing it'd be similar this year.

SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT

WORST FUCKING MISTAKE EVER

finished with 20 mins to spare and kept my p as 3.something an q as 679 ish, sio stupid, of course p must be less than 0, wtf am i thinking, if i used those values to try and owrk out last question, will i get 1 consequential mark maybe?

and other stupid marks i lost were transformations

i just transformed 1 unit to the left

and it got it!stupid me! i dont think smartly in exams, i get into a framset, and just stick there...its awful
fuckk

wat do you need to get a 45 this year probs?

if i got 39/40 on first and 73-75/80 on this one, apparnetly u cant drop many damn marks...so im stuffed?

Anyone got a copy of the paper? It seems to be hard, but people said Unit 3 Chemistry was hard, which I thought it wasn't.

Once again, any specific enquiries about a particular question, ask me, as long as you can provide the question. If the post velocity of this thread is too high, PM me instead, because I can't check every post.

I it's the same if u reflect it and then translate 1 unit to the RIGHT since the period is 4

hrm the cubic question was easy. just use the stat program. plug in all the points... tada... there comes out your cubic question.

there was so much calculator based on that paper. its so not funny. and the time spent plugging in the equations took so long.

man. i should of managed my time better. i didnt do the very last question. but i think i did alrite in the rest.
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER!!

lol coblin, it's coz you're just too intelligent  :)

hakeemthedream, if you struggled, then lots of ppl must have..i know i certainly did and i'm so pissed off right now! i also got 39 on the first one, but seriously...this one was just screwed. in another thread, someone said that the A+ cutoff fopr exam 2 in 2004 was only 78% (similar exam difficulty), with so you never know! just keep your fingers crossed.
