off topic: I noticed you're only aiming for 30 in English it's going to be a lot more difficult to do well (ie 95+ like you are aiming) if you get a low English score.. you'd be surprised (I know I was!) how dramatically your English mark can affect your overall enter.

Almost impossible to do very well without a good english score (even if you do brilliantly in science subjects)

I thought complex numbers and vectors had the most potential to be confusing and brain-taxing questions. Calculus became mechanical once you had enough practice, and kinematics and dynamics is pretty straightforward.

Yr 11 complex numbers is so easy but I looked at Yr 12 at that was HARD, same with vectors.

Yeah I know, in that 30 I aimed a bit low, maybe 34 at best, all depends on how I go on end of year exam. For unit 3 i got an average of 68% (C+). I've done one SAC in unit 4 and haven't got my result back, looking for around C+/B, and then have one more SAC left for unit 4 which I hope to get a B/A.
If I get GA1: C+
          GA2: B+
          GA3: B/B+
What do you think the SS would be for English?

I'm not looking to do really well, 93-96. Around that.

it's not how "much" that matters.
it's more about how effective, which depends on the individual

well yeah, i guess it all comes down to the natural ability and retention rate of a person.

I'm confident an average intelligence person can get 50 or close to it (I like to consider myself a case in point), although I admit it can help. I think enthusiasm, enjoyment and hard work are more important, all of which you seem to have. :)

The remarks about English are quite true. It's difficult to get an awesome ENTER if you don't do well in English. Due to large scaling with maths there are diminishing returns..

I intentionally left it undefined and open to opinion, but it essentially gets progressively more difficult as ENTER rises, and becomes particularly important in breaking the 99 barrier. :)

Yeah I understand that it is an very important factor in an ENTER say above 96 all depending on your other subjects, but i'm looking for a 93-96 with around 30-33 in English which is attainable with high SS in my other subjects.

yer, that is true. Getting low nineties doesn't require you to neccessarily ace english, but do exceptionally well in maths and science subjects.

To do spesh without General maths advanced, will be much more difficult?

My school doesn't offer that subject and I turned out alright :P

I also think that without natural ability, you can only go so far. Like if I studied my butt off every day I could get mid 40s in humanities subjects I reckon, but I know my brother can get there with about the same effort I put into chem/physics (aka, next to nothing). So in the world outside VCE, guess who will be the one that can go far, and the one who will eternally suck at it. :P

do remember statistical moderation does play a part. if your cohort does not-too-bad in the exam your GA1/2 marks might be higher than you think.

Yeah, I might get surprised (maybe!)
For unit 3 I was probably top 5 then I got moved to a different class and probably top 2 or 3 in their. But their are many other classes and many others doing way better than me.
