Are you allowed to apply for special consideration because either your current teacher is incapable of teaching the subject (skills wise) or if your teacher leaves half way through the year and is replaced by a highly inferior one.

Over my two years in VCE I've had 3 teachers be replaced halfway through a year 12 course. The other situation is just so bad that when we get a student teacher it is almost an enlightenment to an entirely different course.

Thanks.

I am 99% sure that is not a reason to apply.
Typically I can't find it but I have read somewhere that teacher difficulties through absence on their behalf is not a reason that you can apply for. And not having a teacher for a few months is more severe then having one. :P

Thanks....

I'll give you an example of the sort of thing I mean with the incompetent one at least. In my media the teacher is an expert in the field of photography, which makes me doing film a lot harder. He has helped the photography students plan their shots, gone out on various shoots with them, printed their shots, mounted their shots and offered them the schools equipment. I have had a 'how are you going with your film' maybe twice in the past 6 months. Now I don't really know what to do with the whole situation because I really feel disadvantaged. The 5 film students and 1 print student are all having to apply for extensions whilst the photography students are all sailing smoothly.

Now with the changing teachers it's not as severe of a problem but it still puts us at a disadvantage.

It's annoying because this has only ever happened to me when it's actually counted, year 12. I don't really want to say it but I suppose this is the sort of thing that happens with public schooling.

I think all of us have had to deal with crappy teachers, even in Year 12. We just have to deal with how the dice rolls I 'pose

The categories of disadvantage that would allow you to access SEAS (that's the Special Entry Access Scheme) are listed here http://www.vtac.edu.au/seas/access-equity.html#about
