Yeah well you can't expect all MHS students to be really really good, otherwise they'll all get 97+ at least, but that doesn't happen. Also, the MHS entrance exam does not factor in anything other than maths and english, whereas some students may gain their high ENTER score from humanities and sciences.

Also people may "bloom" at different times.

it's the collective brilliance of their cohort that make them one of the best.

few schools can even compare to their average [with the exception of MacRob and Bailik]

if you want to check out the 40+ scores for 2007, they're still on the Herald Sun Site. Just type in 40+ VCE and the subject you want... there are so many MHS students, it's ridiculous. :)

Thanks...interesting to see there's always that one or two standout MHS people who get 50 in like 4 subjects.
