I really hope this years exam is going to have a similar layout to the 07' one - nice short and sharp questions and no mammoth long response questions (which VITTA tend to always have - it seems like they have two questions on the elements of design in nearly every exam lol).. The 07 vcaa exam was awesome.. and I cant believe the A+ mark was so low! I'd presume it's going to go up this year... probablly around 75 - 82 ??

Has anyone tried the VCAA 'new study design 2007' SAMPLE EXAM?  (they don't have the answers)

It's here: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/studies/infotech/it-applications/pastexams/2007ITapps-sample.pdf

Post what you get for the multiple choice and i'll quickly do it again and post my answers too.

1: C
2: D
3: B
4: D
5: C
6: C
7: C
8: B
9: D
10: D

Yeah, exactly the same as you. 9 is D

with 6 it can't be D because the question asks for the 'most recent version'... and option D says look at the 'date created'.. which means it won't show the last modified date.

I thought question 7 was pretty stupid... it seems to easy to be right? lol

Found Mark Kelly's answers to the sample 2007 on www.vceit.com

http://www.mckinnonsc.vic.edu.au/vceit/postmortems/ITAsample07/index.htm

Hmm, my answers match his except he reckons 6 should be D instead of C.
I just tried "dragging the mouse over the filename and reading the last modified date." and it worked...

huh! it can't be D?? Option D says look at the 'date created'.... the file could be changed... and hence, the 'modified' date should be the one to look at???    maybe I have misread the question wrong but i'm pretty sure it's C???? (I hope i'm not wrong lol)

anyone have any idea??

Question 6: I put D - because sure, you can just click and it will show you the date, but to effectively do it, i would go through properties (as it would also show other features you can compare the dates with)

My thought process when I circled D.

Q6: By process of elimination, you can only get C, A & B explicitly refer to emails and D says "reading the date created" while the question asks for "most recent version".

btw, on Macs it's "Get Info" instead of "Properties" and when you hover over a file it does nothing :P

Not C. C refers to any generic filename.

I think D is the most correct answer, consequently. Remember that MC asks you to choose the most correct answer.

I also agree that it is severely biased to Windows users.

But both C and D refer to the same thing, "the filename". In any case, D says "date created" so you can rule that one out altogether, leaving only C.

Heh yeh thanks. He's pretty awesome, really knows his stuff through and through. One little thing is tho we don't get many practice exams because most of them he doesn't feel confident to give us because of their problems. He has no problems giving us his QAT ones at least.
