Unit 3/4 Trial Exams

Hey Guys,
I'm doing 1,2 chem right now, and to study for exams, they gave us trial exams from 'Neap'. How do you get trial exams for Units 3/4, apart from the VCAA past ones?
Also, what companies are there, and how many should be done?

Thanx :)

teachers at your school will order them and provide you with commercial papers.
other fellow students/past year students may also share papers, provided that you don't act like a douchebag.

^ what Mao said

Also if you get/have a good tutor s/he should have some.
The companies...IARTV, NEAP, Lisachem, TSFX, TSSM...there are heaps, those are a few off the top of my head.

As for how many you should do, it's always up to you. This year with Chem it was a bit harder 'cause it's a new study design so if you're looking at papers before 2008 you have to get bits out of the old Unit 3 exams and bits out of the old Unit 4...
So it's hard to say how many papers =P I've heard some people do 30+ though. Umm...last year for Bio I did around 20ish. Like I said, it's harder to say for Chem.
+ I think it's always up to the person. *shrugs*

Good luck!
vce 07: bio = 42
vce 08: french, chem, eng, methods, uni chem

At times, its more efficient to just get down and study the entire course and go into the smaller details, rather than repeating that same stoic calculation for the 50th time in a practice exam. You'll start to realise that alot of the stuff you're repeating in every exam (since every exam should be covering the entire course) gets pretty useless, and you might be better off just studying or making notes on the theory itself. This definitely involves truly understanding all the theory, not just a general understanding or rote learning of how stuff like a galvanic cell works (yes, alot of peope don't actually get it from what I've seen; they just follow the general rules and hope for the best). Also, VCAA tends and tries to pull out a question that no one would have ever seen before in any exam, so its always a good idea to go beyond just past papers.

theres also checkpoints and A+ Notes that you can use for chem [im using it this year.] and in A+ Notes it gives a whole RUN DOWN on the years course. its actually pretty good.

doing the same calcs over and over again may be the case. but going beyond exams will help and when u step into the ACTUAL exam... there wont be a question u havent seen before :P

good luck

i enjoyed the SECOND semester [unit 4] of chem :P

As if this is a place where people dont laugh at your ENTER.

ENTER does not determine how smart you are. so you can STFU now...thanks
also, PM ME if you have a problem. bring up a problem which CONCERNS ME only, not half of VN who also do the same action.
thanks
