I think they are going with your overall score.

Last year's cutoff was 59, as has been mentioned in other threads.

If the cutoff score this year was 59 again and if u got less than that, then u have close to no chance.

Unless of course you are from a rural area or have Aboriginal heritage.

Umm, poor doesn't really help, unless you're equating being poor with being rural . . or aboriginal

There are some rich rural kids in my course, not many, but a few

Besides the only thing one gets in a rural scheme is an interview place

You'll have to dominate that interview to anywhere close to an offer, whilst constantly showing that you'll go and work in the country. Getting an interview is the easy part. 700 get interviewed, about 500 get cut

No, but i heard you can still try to get in throught that stream.

I got 91 percentile, but i am still unsure whether i wud get in through the CSP mainstream given how competitive its going to be this year.

The "rural scheme" is the Dean's Rural List.

The ERC scheme is open to metropolitan melbourne students too, but there is no real reduction in the UMAT requirement.

The dean's rural list is only open to students who lived in a rural area for 5 consecutive or 8 cumulative years
