Anyone else got the chinese oral too?

i have mine on the 30th Oct, the day before my english exam which is lovely...not
I'm doing it on Gui Lin Shan Shui, i had a mock oral thingy the other day n it didn't go too well so i'm realli not looking forward to it.  How's everyone else going with it?

Mine was on the monday before VCE exams start (note I didn't do normal english so my first exam was the week after )

I didn't know my detailed study part properly until about the thursday before, as a result of a rather horrible practise on wednesday with my teacher

They are nice to you in there, very happy smiley etc. Only real thing is to keep talking, if you get stuck say SOMETHING in CHINESE don't just look at them blankly eg 'i am nervous i forgot lulz but i can still say a little bit' (although I suppose heaps of people doing chinese SL have background in it so you're not like me and prone to talking in english =P)

Yea i also did it at Xin Jin Shan on Sunday as well, are you doing second or first language?

You guyz all prepared yet or still practising? i'm kinda still preparing some of the stuff coz at the mock i didn't know the answers to quite a few aspect which made me feel urgh....

Just remember, if they asked you a question you don't understand or isn't covered in your details study. Just say "Sorry, this question is not covered in the area I studied for my detail study". - in Chinese of course!

Yup, but be sure to say something like "Oh, I'm sorry, but I didn't study this for my detailed study.  However, I think that the answer is..."

The whole point of the exercise is to show that you can speak well, not necessarily just answering the questions with the correct answer.

Haha I remember last year one of my examiners looked kinda scary so to maintain eye contact I kept looking at the other one =P but yeah I think it's a good idea to get your stuff ready the day before and reach the venue early to relax yourself instead of being like me... for the written exam I had to run into the exam hall and I was still puffing when the reading time started >.<

haha i get the scary eye contact part, coz on my mock oral one of the women just looked plain scary, more like expressionless lol and so i looked at the other one coz she didn't put me off

I did my oral today weeeee~!!! It's finally over !!
I dont need to do anything for chinese again until like the last week of exams hehe
