SAT Moderation - How does it work?

Does anybody know how SATs are moderated? I have heard that they look at your GAT scores - but then I have also heard that the GAT is pointless and doesn't change anything??

For studio arts I have got A+ for both SATs and I was just wondering if I get an A on the exam would my SAT marks be moderated down? I can't see how the exam would affect the SATs considering its completely different to the prac based tasks. Also - i'm ranked 1 or 2 so I don't know if that would change anything?

(Don't come here and say; "stop worrying, just focus on getting good scores", I want to actually know how the process works!)

T stands for Tasks.

What's the difference between coursework and tasks, or are they just different names for the same thing?

They're both at the top now. Again, really sorry.

tasks are usually for subjects like VCD, wood tech, studio arts, art, media etc. someone correct me if i'm mistaken.

i always though SAT stood for School Aptitude Test? :S
