OOOOOO IT:A 11 November 2008

anyone freaking out???

cause I am sort of I always wanted a 40+ in this subject and I'm not sure If I'll be able to get my sac marks have been good. I'm like ranked 3rd or 4th in my class

SAC average being A/A+

I dunno what I'm meant to get on the exam to score that 40+ SS

the practice exams are okay but I still don't know the content fully

I actually haven't really been thinking about the ITA exam much - i've been focusing on english and maths the last few weeks.

I can answer all exam questions but i'm not 100% confident with all the material so I don't feel that confident about getting a 40+... i keep thinking i'm only going to get a 37 or 38... but anything can happen and hopefully the exam is similar to last years (in it's layout and length of questions)!!!

well.. first of all its 802.11, and secondly that's the standard used to connect laptops/desktops together wirelessly in a network.

Found out yesterday I was ranked first in my class (weird, wasn't doing that great in my SACs.) Yeah I struggle to answer some of the questions and generally don't go into enough detail about it. Need to do a lot of work for ITA cause I really haven't done much.

is it still possible to do well even if you're not ranked #1?

Yeah.. very possible. If you have a really smart cohort and your not ranked #1 chances are everyone will do well on the exam so the ranking won't really matter. However, from what I understand if your cohort isn't that strong (and your not ranked near the top) then your sac marks may be moderated down based on your cohorts performance and hence, your study score won't be as high. If you look at Melbourne High last year with business management 13 people got 50 and i'm sure most of them wouldn't have all been ranked #1, so all you need to do is kill the exam and you should be fine.

thanks
the top few are very very good.....then we have people who 'don't give a crap' (or so to speak) with what they get.
i should just focus more on how *i* should do well rather than worry, but it was on my mind and i thought i ought to ask - so, thanks for the heads up

where are you ranked? do you know?

As long as the top ranked people do good on the exam (which I figure they will) and you do good then you will be fine and you can easily get 40+. If you do better than them on the exam then I think it might even be possible that you could get a better study score as them - but then again, I actually don't understand how the ranking and stuff is calculated... (i'm not sure if anyone 100% knows either) haha

Mark Kelly told me that even if your not ranked #1 in your class, you can still score 50.
So don't freak out if your SAC marks aren't freaking amazing, although if your going for 45+ they probably should be

You'd be surprised how many people do well in SACs but crappy in the exam. Most just thing IT is a bludge and because they did well in the SACs they don't need to study for the exam. So long as you study and do practice exams, a 40 is fairly easy to aquire, or so I've been told.

Opposite to what trinon is saying, I am doing B/B+ in SACs but very well in exams (not our official practice exams. That was FULL of dodgy questions). Kelly told me, though, that if I actually study for this, he might be shocked at my results (in a good way).
