Well, the year 12s are reaching the end of there schooling lives, with there final (and most important) exams coming up...

But theres still a year for 09'ers, like me  :-X
So year 12s, share your advice, in hindsight what would you have changed about your year (if anything), that could be of use for year 11s going through the same process next year

What should we (possibly) do, that you guys didn't do
Anything advice  or reflection of the year would be good

Get a better balance than I did.

I didn't go out as much as I should have. Most of the time I wasn't studying (which was also not as much as I would have liked), I was sticking around home and  not having as much fun as I should have.

I've probably lost quite a few friends this year (going into next year) as a result of me being more anti-social than I needed to be. I suggest that you spend a good part of your time with your friends but make sure its not too much

just do the work and stay on top of things.
doing well in year 12 is as simple as that. if you do the work that is set, prevent yourself from falling behind, then put in a bit of effort before exams you will do well. Doing this will put you in front of 90% of other year 12s

The only thing I would have done different was to research uni courses beyond monash=close, uom=far => go to monash.

For me personally, I don't think anything I could have done in year 12 would have made much of a difference. The act of leaving the place was far more helpful than anything I could have done while I was still trapped there.

Don't burn out during the summer holidays studying. Have some balance between work and social life.

I would've tried harder in methods.
I underestimated the seriousness of SACs and didn't have a complete understanding of the system.
I would have done less tutoring - didn't help me at all besides waste my time.

I would have kicked my internet addiction earlier. Unfortunately I am still hopelessly addicted right now, despite fully understanding the potential consequences of this addiction.

And I agree with costargh's point about going out more and not alienating your good friends...I also screwed up a fair bit in that department, which I suspect, has left one of my best friends at least annoyed, if not a little angry, at me. Not a nice feeling.

Oh and, if you feel like there's going to be any impending dramas in your love life, deal with it AFTER exams, not a few weeks before. I'm holding out the temptation to deal with things now, in case there is a bad outcome. I don't want to be sitting in my exam thinking about someone instead of thinking of how to answer the questions!

I dropped Psychology this year, just 3 weeks before the mid-year exam! One of the better decisions I made in 08. I don't know the cutoffs for end of year ones though.

Prioritise your time well and don't neglect subjects - it's not worth investing all your efforts on one subject, then have a sinking feeling that you'd be spending sleepless nights up cramming for the other 3 you've completely fallen behind in.

(Ironical that this is precisely what i've been doing all holiday/SWATVAC - spending 5 hours on English every day and not planning to touch any of my other subjects til after Friday, which might not end so well, especially for Bio which is next Monday. D'oh.)

Wish I started learning how to speak engrish earlier. Well actually, reading through my texts and getting quotes together etcetc. The amount of stuff to do in this subject is ridiculous <_< I've still only read through each of my texts just once...And yes, as dekoyl said, DON'T PICK UP UNNECESSARY TUTORS. Luckily I realised this pitfall prior to year12, and only picked up spesh and English =T

And there's another statement that pushes me towards English Language. I think they should re-do the scaling for the three English.
