I'm in a good mood tonight so here you go.  :D

- 'These characters are linked by their desire for meaningful connections with others.' Do you agree?

- 'This text shoes us that there is always more to people than we see on the surface.' Discuss.

- 'Meryl discovers that no matter how often we look both ways, we cannot avoid fate.' Discuss.

- 'Look Both Ways succeeds in presenting a positive message'. Discuss.

- 'The rain reflects the tears of the characters. Do you agree?

- 'Contrary to your own belief, you do hold fate in your own hands.' Does Look Both Ways show this to be true?

1.   The characters such as Julia and the train driver who say the least in the film are the characters who are suffering the most in LBW.  Is this true?
2.   The strength and appeal of LBW is that it presents a social portrait of ordinary people in ordinary circumstances.  What do you think?
3.   Facing up to responsibilities is a fundamental tenet of human experience.  Do you agree?
4.   ‘Nick and Meryl come together only out of their fears of loneliness and death.’  Discuss
5.   ‘Meryl’s fears are the paranoid imaginings of a woman who has too much time on her hands.’  Compare Meryl’s experience with that of other characters in LBW.
6.   ‘The animination and photomontages mean that we learn more about Nick and Meryl more than other characters in the film’.  Discuss.
7.   ‘Julia and the train driver only have small speaking parts; however, their roles are crucial to our understanding of the other characters.’  Discuss.
8.   ‘This text shows that, ultimately, we must all face the consequences of our actions.’  Discuss.
9.   ‘LBW shows that a fear of death can prevent people from living fully.’  Discuss.
10.   ‘Although speaking the truth can be difficult, the text shows that people should be honest with one another.’  Discuss.
11.   ‘LBW challenges the norms of standard male-female relationships.’  Do you agree?
12.   ‘The use of animations throughout the firm introduces a melodramatic note which undercuts the seriousness of the film’s message.’ Discuss
13.   The title of the film, Look Both Way, is more than just a warning at a railway crossing. What do you see as its meaning?
14.   “It doesn’t matter how life ends, It matters how it was,” Joan tells Nick. Is this the message of Look Both Ways?
15.   ‘It is only through our connections with others that we can endure pain and loss.’ Does Look Both Ways show this to be true?
16.   ‘The director of Look Both Ways employs silences to convey messages just as much as dialogue.’ Discuss.
17.   ‘It is important that people communicate openly with one another, even though this may be difficult.’ How does Look Both Ways demonstrate this?

1.   Look Both Ways shows us that tragedy is a part of life. To what extent do you think this is true?
2.   In Look Both Ways, it is the characters’ own fear of commitment that prevents them from being truly happy. Discuss.
3.   ‘Maybe it was meant to be… maybe the right thing happens.’ (Meryl) To what extent does fate control the lives of the characters in Look Both Ways?
4.   Look Both Ways shows us that good things can come from terrible situations. Do you agree?
5.   Look Both Ways teaches us that even in the bleakest moments it is our relationships with others that are the most important things. Do you agree?
6.   ‘Everybody has to find a way to face their own death and life.’ (Joan) What do the characters in Look Both Ways learn?
7.   ‘It doesn’t matter how life ends, it matters how it was.’ (Joan) Why is it so important for the characters in Look Both Ways to come to an understanding about death?
8.   Look Both Ways shows us that our experiences as human beings are universal. Do you agree?
9.   Despite its preoccupation with death, Look Both Ways is an essentially uplifting experience. Do you agree?
10.   Look Both Ways shows us that in order to move forward in our lives, we must let go of the past. To what extent do you agree?
