I mean espesically in an expository essay if you are writing a to a school or something.

Do you make it obvious or imply it?

Can people give me examples of their own to show how they do it, or point out to any specific essays around this site which has done this well.

Thanks

Make it appropriate for the given audience.
It depends what type of piece you are doing.
If doing say a newspaper article, and your audience is school aged people, then make it in a school magazine or something. And just use language appropriate to the theme. Usually it will be for high school students.

No, not necessarily, it doesn't tell you what form your essay has to be in, but it does give you the audience, which you have to make language appropriate to.

You can write any of the forms, so long as you use language appropriate to the specified audience.

It'll say like...VCE students, hence use language you would normally use in your type of essays.
It won't say - dumb this down for a bunch of kindergarten kids.
Don't stress :)

TBH, especially as this is the first year, I wouldn't be surprised (and neither would anyone else) if the audience, form and purpose were largely irrelevant, eg. a anthology of VCE students work pretty much allows anything.

when referring to audience say your audience was parents and students or something you could say something like "many of you parents might remember when..." i hope that helps/makes sense
