Exam Thoughts
« on: October 31, 2008, 11:57:09 am »
YYYYEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

not really, i still have EL to do....

and if you were wondering, yes i did go to the exam, and yes i did leave early

Wasn't entirely happy, wrote three two + a bit pages essays [though my writing is fairly small and i don't leave line spacings], maybe 600 words?

Nineteen Eighty Four had an alright topic, though I lost steam half-way through as I forgot most of it :P

Context was a BITCH. SERIOUSLY. I was so planning to write a letter to the examiner, that is until they specified you had to write a newspaper article... HOW THE HELL DO YOU WRITE A NEWSPAPER ANYTHING DRAWING IDEAS FROM A BOOK?! [it probably is just me, but meh]

and Language analysis, :P JAMISON: ARE YOU HAPPY? :D :D :D
my piece got a bit repetitive after a while, and half the shit I talked about were from EL, and yeah.....

when I finished writing I made myself enjoy the bliss for a while, but the overwhelming feeling that I DONT HAVE TO DO MAINSTREAM ENGLISH EVER AGAIN was too much to take in. I left, and ran home. It was VICTORY

now I am drinking Victory Gin. For the first time, I can actually learn to enjoy the book that I had to study :P

will I even get 25? :P

I'm pretty happy. Probably couldn't have had better things to write on.
Part A was excellent for me because the question I did was what I  had been mainly focusing on and for all your information I DIDNT start with "In Robert Bolt's two part play..." LOL :P
Wrote 4 and a half pages here (did this part 2nd) Maybe 8+/10

Part B Context. Identity and Belonging. I sorta put some stuff in from stuff I had been preparing. Again the context was alright. I spoke about Australian and American relations and likened this to the relations that mainstream america and the amish community have. Wrote 3 and a quarter pages. Probz didnt do that well. 7+???/10

Part C. Was pretty easy. I did heaps of actual analysis of the language so i guess they cant say i didnt actually analyse the language used. Wrote 4 pages. hopefully 8+/10

Pretty happy overall. Could have been a lot worse

AND GUESS WHAT!!! ITS ALL OVER FUCK YESS!!!
hopefully nothing lower than 38 for my SS.

I was really happy with the exam - the topics for LBW were really good!!! I seriously thought they would try and make them extremely harder considering it's the most popular text.. I wrote 5 and half pages for that essay..  but I am kinda worried about language analysis! Even though the article was sweet... I just have no idea how I actually went with the essay (finished it in 4 pages)!!! Encountering Conflict was also good - the prompt was easy and I seemed to have clearly got my ideas down- I wrote 4 and a bit pages for this one. I only talked about The Line... cos' it was for a 'newspaper' I made my own headline within the last 2 minutes lol.... it doesn't even make sense! It was something like this:

'ENCOUNTERING IT CAN CHANGE WHO WE ARE: IT'S INEVITABLE AND WE NEED IT - CONFLICT'

I was like :O what am I writing??

Apart from being a little down from the language analysis...  I seriously do not know what SS i'll get.. it could be anywhere between 34 and 39 - does anyone feel like this ???  Is it a bad or good thing lol

FAIL.

I didn't finish. I spent too much time on my first essay, and my brain was dead by the time I got to the analysis.

I'm sad that I didn't get to use any of the quotes I remembered.

Oh well, what's done is done. Hope I can at least scrape a 25.

omg! 4 pages! i only ever wrote 2 pages on each lol

LBW and romulus quotes were really bad.. hardly had anything to write on so in the end chose Romulus, My Father number 2.. I think i did ok.. prob a 5 at the most..
And context.. im sorry but you people who did idenity and belonging i am soo bloody jealous lol... I did Whose Reality and we did nothing to do with issues or anything.. i had to rely on A Streetcar Named Desire as my basis for a piece of writing.. and even then i did crap.. i rekon a 4 lol

And language analysis... thank god it was easy! im hoping a 6..

as ive said before i am a terrible english student :( so i know im not getting a 30 anymore :( bye bye Law

I still have hopes of getting 33 with my C+ sacs (the exam was shweet).

I just hope i didn't stray off in 1984 :(

Cool doode.

for context (identity and belonging) i talked about relationships with families (nurture lol), friends, and community. then talked about Holden's lost identity as he didn't belong anywhere. lol
