My answers for MC, tell me if you disagree:
1. C 2. A 3. C 4. D 5. B
6. B 7. A 8. B 9. D 10. A
11. D 12. C 13. A 14. C 15. B
16. D 17. B 18. B 19. B 20. C
21. C 22. A (especially not sure) 23. C 24. D 25. D

Not sure on all of these so don't hesitate to tell me if I'm wrong

I got the same except 22- i put B as i water would be more of a problem than light?

Not sure on all of these so don't hesitate to tell me if I'm wrong

Got the same except for 22 i got B- i figured water would be more of a problem than light?

I thought they would get water through roots not leaves...

With q22 I put D, high ambient temperatures.
I can't be A because if there was competition for light the leaves would grow upwards. :S And I thought that reduced width would retain water more effectively... and reduce evaporation or something? I don't know lol.

Why is the number of autosomes in MC 1 44?

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/53/NHGRI_human_male_karyotype.png

That shows 22. o_o

If there was competition for sunlight, why would the leaves grow away from the sunlight??

22 pairs of autosomes, but 44 autosomes. I'm pretty sure I made that mistake on a trial exam so I wasn't going to make it again...although if VCAA thinks otherwise....

Shows 22 PAIRS...if you take the paternal and maternal as separate chromosomes there are double that, hence 44

A question about Karyotyping....they usually get them when the cell is in interphase right? (when they're condensed?) if that's the case then why aren't they all doubled...as in two chromatides per maternal and paternal chromosome?
