Can someone please outline the energy transformations that take place and where in the station and also terms that are interchangeable like kinetic/thermal

I'm just a bit confused

Coal is burnt in O2 and water is heated

(Chemical to thermal)

The water that is heated rises and and drives a turbine

(thermal to kinetic/mechanical)

The turbine drives a generator

(kinetic/mechanical to kinetic/mechanical)

The generator produces electricity

(kinetic/mechanical to electricical)
