I had no idea about that HR strategies thing. I used change tactics. xD

And for that facilities design and layout, I didn't know what to do. I said something about moving a facility closer to the docks or something so that it would be quicker to get the parts into production.

For corporate culture, I just said mission statement and employee behaviour.

I didn't provide examples unless they specifically stated it. It was something I might have added it if I had the time, but my mind was dead after the first hour, so I'm pretty lucky that I even finished.

Nah, you didn't have to link them back [i hope not].. I just linked back strategic planning to the case study but thats about it.. for tactical and front-line I used generic examples.

Don't have to that was a general question

Linking back will just show that you are smart and understand them perfectly kind of thing.

ah okay, and did you have to give examples?

all i did was strategic is done by top level of mgmt with an intention of achieving set obj in the next 3-5 years
and then the same for operational and front line planning (those are the ones right?)

I only gave examples because it was a 6 mark question so I wanted to milk out everything I knew about that topic haha.. I just wrote more so I could fill up all the writing space.

ahh okay fair enough lol. i reckon it would be 3 marks for identifying the levels and then 3 marks for describing it. hopefully examples aren't needed.

reckon this exam was easier than last years? i didnt really do 07 under time constraints.

I reckon it was harder.. yeah. Only because a lot of people wouldn't have been able to actually write enough to fill up the spaces and get the full marks. Most people would have got stuck on the matrix structure.. those HR strategies and the questions about competitiveness and social responsibility issues. They covered the basic topics but had the questions in a tricky sort of way... a lot of people from school left really early [only like 4 other people stayed till the very end].. which would indicate that most people found it hard or to long.

For the "define employee relations and explain roles" did you guys/girls use POLC?
And also,  what did everyone say for the Facilities and Design Layout response?

awesome :D so that means getting a 55 this time might not necessarily mean a 43 like my friend got.

for the role of HRM i just wrote about how it was his duty to satisfy both org and employees in terms of pay and conditions and stuff :/ and just wrote a whole load of BS on that

Only seven people stayed behind (out of 50) till the very end.

Sanjay, I hope not. That flew over my head. I just talked about remuneration and conditions. How it was important to keep costs down but also be enough to retain/attract employees. :(

I thought it was pretty long- and had a bit of ambiguity about it
