My SACS were 85% average

exam 1- 16-17/40 (lol i know thats bad)
Exam- 64/80
Thats an averaall 80/120 for exam which is 67%

Lol, I reckon you will get higher than that for English, Frederick! You should have no problem getting into your first preference. :)

No way! My english is ok but i didnt do a thing during the year. Basically showed up to the SAC's having done some reading the night before. I averaged (50-55)% on the sacs and possibly similar in the exam. Surely that wouldnt get me anything over 30?

Well, according to http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/2007/section3/vce_english_ga07.pdf (VCAA statistics from 2007), you would get grades such as C+, C+ and possibly a D+ to C in the end of year. So judging by this, you may be able to scrape the 30 region, it just depends how lenient the examiners were towards your actual exam. All the best, I'm sure you did much better than you anticipated. :)
