Latin as breadh UoM

so let's say i do engineering or science at melbourne and i want to also learn latin, would i do it as a breadth or something? Also do you think latin could be learned within a couple of years if no prior knowledge is held?\
any help will be appreciated.

personal interest. It would sound cool to know latin i mean who else in society would know it other than yourself
