Punishing bad behaviour with lowering SAC scores

Are teachers allowed to lower your SAC scores for bad behaviour (despite studying like crazy at home)? And if so, do you have a right to be told?

i think they do in year 12 to have a distribution of rankings so like not everyone is ranked 1st etc. But i don't think they can be
based on not tuning up to class.

It's against the law for that to occur. However, i wouldn't put it beyond some of my teachers. I go to such a racist school

Hmm, i dont think they are allowed to cite bahaviour is a reason- however, it will play on their subconscious if they don't particularly like you. With subjects like legal and english-especially when you don't receive your SAC back, then i would believe that a teacher wcould lower your marks b/c of behaviour- without you knowing.

You never be sure about sacs. You think you know what you got but then they could change it or stm.

don't piss him/her off again, it won't ever help your grades. that being said, if he/she does you can probably threaten to speak to VCAA and see what he does

Well they can...Teachers generally don't want everyone to have the same rankings (as it really affects your SAC marks if someone screws up). If you have the same SAC scores as someone else, but that someone else goes to class and studies and what not, then they might subconsciously drop you down a rank just in case your non attendance or laziness or whatever will result in you getting a lower than expected exam mark and hence impacting on everyone else with the same SAC ranking...

...and normally SACS SHOULD be normally distributed...its more fair on everyone then...so they probs find any excuse to give them any doubt...

just in case take notes on any incidents so that when it comes to my word against yours you have something to bring up
