Is it too late to try and apply from one Uni to another?

My cousin isn't happy with her course.

She is at Swinburne doing her 2nd year in Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and shes been told she can't major in Economics (even though on VTAC website it says you can major in it) and she wants to transfer possibly to Bachelor of Business @ Monash Caulfield. She doesn't mind having to do do extra time to gain her degree, say doing another 2 years (with some credit points from her subjects completed at Swinburne) but from all the research I've done it appear shes too late to apply for 2009 entry.

Is the only way for mature age students to apply for a transfer to a course at a differnt institute to their current one through VTAC? Because VTAC applications closed ages ago and it seems that you can't apply directly to Monash. Are their any options? She could apply for mid-year entry however shes ruled that out because they dont offer CSP places for mid-year entry.

Thoughts and help would be appreciated.

Yeh, i think since VTAC applications have closed she's defininently gonna have to call monash and see if there's anyway around it

They take mid year enrolments (at least they did this year, most certainly will next year) and you can get credit

EDIT: You can still apply to VTAC up to 12 Dec, but with a $100 exta fee

Yeh thanks mid-year doesnt offer CSP places so its out of the question. Although maybe she wont mind paying the very late application fee. Thanks!


Shes calling Monash tomoz to talk to them anyway. If she thinks theres a good shot maybe then ill suggest her to do the very late application
