med / biomed eh?

In that case, drop specialist and physics and pick up biology

Wait, they make her do 3/4 Texts and Traditions? What school is this? I don't know any like that...

Nunawading Christian College...its a small school and not many know of its existance. hehehe.

Well my sister just  came home and I showed her this thread.
She says that she is going to do 7 subjects, do equally well in them and that is final. Nothing will change her mind. :( :( :( :(
She got kinda pissed off at me because she knew that the response was going to be "Don't do 7 subjects".

Oh well....at least I tried.

Thanks for the replies everyone. :)

Is she really that smart that she can pull off a 95+ with 7 subjects in year 12?(no offense intended) Would have to have an exceptional retention rate and be really focused. 7 subjects??? To get them scores she would need to study to the MAX, hardly any time to chill out and have fun with friends. Personally I think it would be very unwise to do that! One has to be realistic.
She has to ask herself what she really wants to do after VCE and see whether her subject selection is appropriate.

lol dont worry squance, she will turn - about 3 to 4 weeks into year 12 when she sees the workload. Then you can say "I told you so"

Happens all the time at my school, whenever people do two 3/4s in year 11 they end up dropping a subject in year 12

Lol, one subject won't even count... So I don't really see the point of 7! I agree with what everyone has said so far. :)

She will regret it :S.
Life sucks when you spend all day at school then come home to do homework till bedtime as well as all day every weekend.
Good luck to her though :).

My brother knew that feeling! And still, he only got 80 for his ENTER... :( He was so destined for 95. :P

lols well im year 11 going into year 12 next year and i did 7 subjects in year 11  with 2 units 3/4 subjects Japanese and Religion which is a similar situation but not distance ed. I bludged through religion and i reckon i got like 30 for SS coz i hated the subject, wasnt my field. Next year im doing 6 subjects (5 subs compulsory at my school + uni sub) so altogther im doing 8 subjects in total for vce. 2 of my subjects wont count.

Basically is this im giving myself more chances to score high but i know it straining my workload but i can handle it and i reckon i did bad in my 2 unit 3/4's this year so yea thats why im doing 6 next year. They are just backup subjects. I reccommend only doing 6 subjects but if your sister can handle the workload or is really keen to do psychology then yea let her be. spesh would help her physics or the otherway around. But i highly recommend not doing 7 subjects in year 12. Dropping physics might be the solution since it is not prereq for most courses besides radiogoraphy and since she got chemistry it should be fine, she wont be in the most favourable situation when it comes to selections in university but she would have gotten to do Psychology which is a good subject to study.

Doing Psychology next year is a good decision for these reasons:
-Next year is the last year of the current study design
-It is an easy subject to pick up because its more memory/logic and applying what you learn
Good Luck 6 subjects or 7 subjects its up to your sister just support her decision
if you think 7 subjects is alot, then look at me i got 8  :buck2:

lols yea i hope so too... ahahah i think  year 12(5 subjects +uni sub) gonna be easier than my year 11 (7 subjects) O yea i forgot to mention that she could do a university subject instead of psychology. The workload and pressure is not as much as a unit 3/4 subject i think ??? plus exams are set on times that dont disrupt your VCE exams,  so she can study for her VCE exams better.

why do you have to do a compulsory subject in year 12? thats so stupid...
i too think 7 subjects is too many, i struggled doing 6 in year 11 and personally cant wait until i only have 5 next year.

taking 7 is just dumb. she will fly through first term but the second that term 2 comes she will burn out. sacs will be due and exams will be looming. i dont care if she is a mutant super child, that is not healthy and not only will she quite possibly do equally bad in all subjects due to stress, she will get sick. hell, i got terribly sick from stress and i did 5 3/4 this year (2 last year). her intentions sound very inticing, but the reality is that i doubt that anyone in our state would be able to keep up.

You should have seen me in the middle of the year! :O I was throwing up, sick and nauseous, purely based on the fact that I studied too much. Then I didn't study for a week of the holidays, felt better, but when I got back to school, suffered constant headaches, migraines and at one stage, insomnia. Now that I think of it, I should have applied for special consideration. :(
