engineering @ monash was 88.80 last year

considering a 30% or so increase in applications, what do you think the cut off will be? im thinking around 90 - 92

also you get 2-3 extra aggregate points if your in the middle band, is that around 1-1.5 enter points?

yep thats bout right. did they say a 30% increase in applications in only the bachelor degree??? or is that including double degrees with engineering???

from the VTAC website for Monash Engineering.

Middle-band: A study score of at least 20 in specialist mathematics = an aggregate 3 points higher. A study score of at least 20 in both chemistry and physics = an aggregate 2 points higher.

hmm not sure, i think maybe with double degree's aswell

im so torn up to what my 2nd preference (likely to be what i will get) between Engineering at Melbourne uni OR engineering/business at swinburne uni of tech (hawthorn)

on careers night the lady from eng. australia said she went there, and said that swinburne is excellent for engineering and well recognised. But the prestige of UoM is hard to turn away from...

the double degree at swinburne only starts its business part in the 3rd year, which is kinda good, so your not loaded with extra work from the start

atm, looks like the double degree at swinburne is going to win. still unsure...

although

Other university figures obtained by The Age yesterday showed:

- Apart from law, some of the other popular courses at Monash include engineering (up 36 per cent on first preferences), the new architecture degree (which has so far received 231 first-preference applications), and IT, which had about the same number of first preferences as last year.

^^^^^^ i really hope that that is talking about the bachelor of engineering course only, and doesn't include double degrees :S
