...I received a letter from LaTrobe, saying I had been successful in my SALT application, and that so long as I get an ENTER of >50, they'll accept me for Arts at Bundoora.

Anyone else received good news today?

LaTrobe is my third preference, but it's still really nice to know I have that security blanket in case I don't get >85, which rules out first and second (UoM and Monash respectively)

I only need an ENTER of 50 to be accepted (as opposed to 75 normally) and >25 in either of my English subjects.

Woo  :D... I got the same letter, except for Business at Bundoora.
I've got Monash and Swinburne higher on my preferences, but I guess its good to know that this will sort of act like a 'safety net' if I don't get the required enter.

Go to the careers advisor at your school, and they should explain it. Essentially all you have to do is fill out a form, explaining why you'd be good at whichever course. I did this a few months ago.
