An e-mail from my English teacher- results
« on: December 16, 2008, 02:59:12 am »
This is an e-mail sent to me from my English teacher.
Brought a smile to my face when I read it! Its so kind and sincere.   :-[

Quote
Dear Costa,

Congratulations! I am absolutely thrilled. You well deserve that score
because you were willing to take my advice and act on it. I knew you would
do it and you have made me very, very, proud of you. You got the highest in
my two classes of English. I do not know the results of the other English
classes because we are only given the results of our own classes. Your TER
score is fantastic! I do hope you get what you want.
Thank you for thinking of me and informing me about your results. You are
the only student who has kept in contact. It is very thoughtful of you to
think of meeting me and giving me a token of appreciation. Do not worry
about that, your email and thanks are more valuable than anything else.It
certainly shows your sincerity and appreciation. You have the making of a
true gentleman. Do not change who you are, Costa, be yourself and pursue
your dreams. You will certainly go very far in life. A teacher is blest with
stars like you, once in a blue moon and I was truly blessed by having you as
a student. You kept the discussions going and gave me hope.

I wish you God's blessings for a bright and happy future. Thanks for your
essay on identity and belonging. I will certainly use it next year.

Regards,

Name Suppressed

It's all over! *tear*

Aww. That's so sweet.

Part of the reason why I was so happy to be dux last year was because it gave me an opportunity to publicly thank my teachers, though I gave them all Christmas cards (with an actual thoughtful message in there) the day after results.

The kind words of teachers have helped me lots. In terms of confidence, but also their kind references got me into my degree. When I visited my old school the other day, my lit teacher was saying that she used my essays from last year to teach this year's class, that she would be lost without them. That was really good to know :)
