if i get into GIPPSLAND BACHELOR OF ARTS ( CRIMINAL JUSTICE ) 75.10... and i also wanna minor "chinese".. can i do criminal justice at monash clayton "as you can cleary see, CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND CRIMINOLOGY can be done at Caulfield, Clayton, Gippsland." and chinese can only be studied in MONASH clayton?

I am leaning towards no, based on the fact chinese can *only* be studied at clayton as per the undergrad handbook (essentially our bible), there is no off campus option and you wouldn't be able to physically travel between both campuses several times a week :P
Whether it is impossible or not I am unsure on. You could call them tomorrow morning if you like :)

ok so heres the deal
this course you can majoy in criminology or criminal justice.
heres the webpage.

http://www.monash.edu.au/study/coursefinder/course/0002/study-area.html

as you can cleary see, CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND CRIMINOLOGY can be done at Caulfield, Clayton, Gippsland.
in the VTAC guide criminal justice at MONASH was 75.10 CLEARY-IN second round was 70.75 in gippsland( reminder: my enter was 72.55..i hate repeating it :( )

i also wanna minor in CHINESE STUDIES which is situated in Clayton.....

BTW arts at clayton is 85.80 and at caufield 78.55

URGENT HELP PLEASE!!

thank you =)
so question 1:
can i even "minor" in chinese?

Only if you do this qualification as part of an Arts degree, or with a diploma.

question 2:
someone told me that if i pick up subjects in that can ONLY be done in clayton... i can also do the subject of criminology and/or criminal justice at MONASH too. is this true?

I really don't get what you are trying to say here. You need to get in first...

question 3:
Can i even get into monash arts?

You may, cross your fingers.

Also I hope you are aware where the Gippsland campus is.

as for monash. CAUFIELD arts is 78.55 fringe 76.25 with 20% maybe get in with SEAS?

Monash may or may not let you (I dunno this, i will ask caramel). But you have to get yourself to Gippsland when you are doing Criminal Justice and to Clayton for Chinese to be able to study it. Now Gippsand is at least 160 kms away from Melbourne. That's pretty far, and you would have to drive yourself (there's no bus service like there is for Caulfield and Clayton)

Yes you can study Chinese at Clayton even if you are based at Gippsland or whatever, if you don't mind travelling (there are free shuttle buses I believe). I have a friend this year who went to Caulfield every week to take her Journalism lectures, because they're not offered at Clayton.

Look at Glockmeister's post. Gippsland is geographically far away. There is no shuttle services to there

Okay my bad, didn't read through every post carefully. If you don't mind lots of travel, it is theoretically possible then to do a minor in Chinese (there might also be options for distance ed, call them up and ask)

According to the undergrad handbook, chinese studies is only offered at clayton and not as off campus units

I used to live in the country. :P... Then we moved to the city and I discovered the Internet. :P

But seriously Beata, I think you should go. I mean, you could always do TAFE for 1 year = Uni the next year, but then again, nothing is guaranteed, and you may end up doing something else instead.

This is your chance to do what you love (albeit in a different area) and prove that you can be an excellent asset in the legal field. Good luck...

Odette.

There's always an option of going to VU [trying to get more VNers to come to VN] ... I spoke to one of the students who was studying Criminal Justice... and she seems happy. Oh and.... the new ad for VU .... "VU has done her law career a great justice" [Picture of a cartoon female]
