Pop-ups

I got my new laptop and on both IE and Firefox popups are coming up and it really annoys me.
I have IE google toolbar popup blocker on "block all popups" and they still come up.

Ive done a scan with McAfee Security Centre and they still come up.
Then I did a scan with program my friend told me to download. Lavasoft Ad-Aware.

AND THEY STILL COME UP!

Help!!

Yikes, and you only JUST got the laptop.

I think there's probably going to be more effort involved in removing said popups if Ad-Aware couldn't handle it then just reformatting and starting over (shouldn't be an issue if you've only just got the laptop?)

(aside: there's a rule I have at work - there are two places that malware comes from; warez and porn)

what are warez?
I was trying to download a crack for photoshop and on this forum where i was downloading from they spoke about warez and yeh i downloaded some cracks that wer probz infected.

The popups are of random things... u won 50 dollars phone card etc

Aha!, the crack you downloaded was most-likely a backdoor trojan, that is why these pop-ups are bothering you.

what do u mean doesnt help? it runs a scan for invalid registry keys in your computer that might be causing your upset. it works. trust me.

do you have antivirus? or a firewall at all?
