40 Hour Famine

The 40 Hour Famine is this weekend.
This year the funds go to stopping child labour, trafficking and slavery in India.  :angel:

Is anyone else participating?
What are you going with out?
How much are you trying to raise?

I'm planning to do the standard go with out food.
My group's aiming to raise at least $1000.

I remember in grade 6, all the ano' girls at my school did this because if they didn't they thought they would be perceived as fat; it was basically a little grade 6 trend lol.

(I'm not suggesting that they are your reasons. Just reminiscing on the good old days lol)

Doing it on Monday 6pm to Wednesday 10am. It's the only time I can actually do it. I'm giving up food, speech and furniture. woohoo.

Im also going that extreme! I have given up food for 168 hours, except im having rice once a day, only after I was given advice from my Doctor. I have raised $2,400 so far and I'm going to supermarkets etc to get more money.

My aim is $5,000.

(One kid has died in the time Ive written this)

- don't need a credit card
- you get people to promise to sponsor you if you do the famine, by putting their names down on a World-Vision-supplied booklet
- chase people up for the money once you've done it
- send money to World Vision
