Well Melbourne doesn't have undergraduate medicine so your ENTER doesn't matter for their post-graduate one (GPA, GAMSAT, interview). So KLDYS program doesn't give you an advantage.

Monash's components are interview, UMAT and ENTER. 98 is still a big chance IMO. The UMAT decides whether you get an interview and the interview is before ENTERs get released.

They wouldn't discriminate against which type of school you come from. That would just be unfair and extremely rude.

http://www.medstudentsonline.com.au/forums/index.php is fantastic for research too.

If you got the highest possible ENTER and you screwed up your interview you are also doomed to med-rejection.

My friend got 99.75, but he missed out on interview (didn't do so well in UMAT), so no med for him...

Whoa that has to hurt :( I know I'd be crushed if that happened to me.

At melbourne, if youre a KLDYS you can get into biomed with a 90 if you went to an underrepresented school, which is most of them

Biomedicine, lol.

It's subjected to places being available though.

He could still go for guaranteed post-grad full-fee medicine at UoM. He's already above 99.00 so it's pretty much guaranteed except for a few technicalities. Main obstacle I'd say would be the cost which we worked out to be about $200k or so.

I asked UoM how it works, and you only need to enter biomedicine and that's it for now. Once it nears the time when your course finishes, THAT is when you bring up your ENTER with UoM and ask for your guaranteed Medicine place. Knowing this, what you should do (and what UoM recommends) is to run for Medicine through the normal path, but if you don't go so well, at least be comforted by the knowledge that you still have your guaranteed place in hand. Basically, the guaranteed place isn't something you have to 'lock-in' already, and even later. It's a last resort.

Oh woops, thought you meant biomed at UoM. Yeh, the path you're taking is alright. I mean, least you've got your law degree either way <_<

ANother thing, i heard UOM might not be doing the GAMSAT for 2011 post grad med, this tru? I heard they might be doing their own unique type of assesment.

Would this DIS advantage the biomed ppl that are there, like if they wanted to keep their options open and apply else where for med (cuz its really competitve at UOM) they would have to study for GAMSAT and this new melbourne grad entry test.

Another thing, my friend wants to know whether post grad med is titled MBBS or MD, because if its MD thats a huge thing.
