Yay, time for another one of Happy's random threads.

I've never understood why when I drive my car, I can turn left, and the car goes left, and I turn right, and the car goes right, but when I reverse, I turn left and the car goes right, and I turn right and the car goes left. :S

Lol, I'm still trying to learn the basics of driving. :S

I second that. Gave up on it ever since in year10, I got full marks on the biology and chemistry unit tests, and got a C+ on the physics one, hence explaining my broken asian 5 subject set :]

Every conceivable theory/concept/fact breaks down at the moment of the big bang. If the big bang was the beginning of time, then asking what happened before it is a meaningless question. Its a bit like asking what's north of the north pole.

try to think of it as aiming the back of the car... if you want the back of the car to go left you steer left. then it makes sense

haha but yeh.. people understand the formulation (only those hardcore dudes, though haha) but no-one truly understands the core or causes behind such.

It's like a lot of branches of physics.. i.e we can describe gravity and make very accurate predictions - yet we don't understand the fundamental nature of it.
